How Does PWV Work?
The purpose of Picture West Virginia is to get people living in or connected to the state to respond creatively when thinking of a certain topic. Each week will have its own topic, and future topics will be posted a few weeks out to give people time to respond. (Look to your left. Those are the topics.) All you have to do is make a post that is somehow related to both the topic and West Virginia. You can use photography, art, music, words … whatever you feel like posting. It’s that simple.
There are two ways to make a post. The easiest is to just make it on your own blog during the week the topic is active. If you decide to do it this way, just be sure to let me know when your post goes up so I can note it here on PWV. This can be a good way to get some new traffic to your site. Also be sure to link back to Picture West Virginia so your readers can come check out other submissions.
The second way to play along is to submit your posts to me, and I’ll put them up right here on Picture West Virginia. This is a good option for people who don’t have their own blogs, or for those whose blog formats don’t play nicely with this idea.
Who can submit?
Anybody who has a connection to West Virginia. If you live here, if you used to live here, if you vacation here, if you have family here — it doesn’t matter. If you feel compelled to post, then post.
Who can comment on PWV?
Anybody. All respectful comments are welcome on Picture West Virginia, regardless of where you’re from. West Virginians have always been a welcoming bunch!
That’s it. So tell me: How do you picture West Virginia? I hope you’ll play along.
